FX Risk Visibility & Automatic Protection

gs-usecase
Use Case Snapshot

This path activates FX risk visibility with automatic protection for end customers.
It enables a platform to expose customer FX exposure and apply a predefined, automatic protection mechanism without introducing risk policy configuration, strategy selection, or product design decisions.
This path is designed as a controlled entry point for adding risk-aware FX protection as an automated infrastructure layer.

Prerequisites

This path can be started only if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The platform operates as B2B2X, serving end customers and owning the customer experience.
  • he platform generates observable customer FX exposure through balances, trades, pricing, invoices, or contractual commitments.
  • The platform is legally permitted to expose FX risk information and apply automatic protection mechanisms to customer-facing activity in at least one jurisdiction.
  • The platform accepts that Stage 1 uses a single predefined exposure model and protection mechanism, with no configuration.
  • The platform supports API-based integration. No UI configuration or policy management is required in Stage 1.
gs-symbol If any prerequisite is not met, this path should not be started.

Stage 1 – Fast-Track Scope

Included in Stage 1

Stage 1 activates a fixed risk visibility and protection flow:

  • One source of customer FX exposure
  • One predefined exposure calculation model
  • One automatic FX protection mechanism
  • Deterministic application with no configuration
  • FX risk computation and protection handled by FX360
gs-symbol Stage 1 establishes automated risk-aware protection without introducing customer or platform decision points.

Explicitly Excluded from Stage 1

The following are not included in Stage 1:

  • Risk management policies or rule configuration
  • Hedge ratio or threshold tuning
  • Multiple exposure sources
  • Multiple protection mechanisms
  • Strategy selection or optimization
  • Risk dashboards or analytics
  • Monetization or pricing optimization
gs-symbol These exclusions exist to preserve deterministic adoption and prevent decision dependency.

Time to Live

Expected time to Stage 1

live: 2–4 weeks

This estimate assumes:

  • All prerequisites are met
  • The predefined models are accepted as-is
  • No deviation from the Stage 1 scope

Fast-Track Steps

Each step represents a progress gate, not a task list.

gs-connect

Identify

Identify the customer FX exposure source used for risk computation.

gs-configure

Connect

Connect the platform to the FX360 risk and protection API.

gs-execute

Compute

Execute exposure calculation and protection logic in a non-production environment.

gs-validate

Validate

Validate exposure detection and automatic protection behavior.

gs-go-live

Go Live

Enable risk visibility and protection for live customer activity.

Validation Check

Stage 1 is complete when:

  • Customer FX exposure is calculated correctly
  • Automatic protection is applied deterministically
  • Protected outcomes are consistent across executions
  • No configuration or manual intervention is required
gs-symbol Stage 1 completion is binary: complete or incomplete.

What Comes Next

After Stage 1, the platform may expand to:

  • Additional exposure sources
  • Advanced risk analytics and dashboards
  • Policy-based risk management
  • Customer-configurable protection options
  • Expanded hedging strategies
  • Monetization and pricing optimization
gs-symbol Expansion is optional and occurs outside the Fast-Track scope.
